Today is Mariaville’s Children’s Day celebration. All the children wore fancy clothing to school. There was a joint session for the morning and the afternoon students. All children should be very happy and excited, but……

My Zi Wei was sitting in the class, crying. Maybe she was not used to early waking from bed, or maybe she was just pampered. When she saw me, she cried. I stayed no longer in the school to avoid her from crying more.
Actually Wei was very excited before that. She told me she would be getting ice-cream, sweets, presents, …..so on. She did. When I was back from work just now, I saw her playing with her presents. The thing is, I dislike her habit of not caring about her own things. I saw all her presents (stationery set)Â and toys scattered on the floor. She purposely tore the erasers into pieces, spoilt the mechanical pencil, lost the box which is used to keep puzzles,….a mess!
My heart is heating! I started scolding and pulling out the cane. I whipped her, aiya….just gently, and warned her to clear up the mess on the floor. She is always frightened of my weapon. She quickly did as told.
I am really headache. She is a girl but she doesn’t behave like one. She is careless, forgetful, messy,….eerrrrr…:(Â Â How to train her? She will go back to her same old habit the next day. I’m sure.

Jacelyn, instead of scolding her, perhaps u can create awareness of a sense of belonging in another way.
Tell her, “Oh no, look at all your things. Poor you, now u have nothing to play with, while all your friends presents are nice and beautiful. Shall mummy just buy rotten presents (say things she like) for you next time?”
