Regarding Children’s Education

When I was having tea with my godmother today, we had some talk about children’s education. I told her that I have registered Zi Wei in Yuk Choy school for primary. She was a bit surprised why I didn’t pick Ave Maria Convent school. I replied that I want my children to be exposed more on activities instead of just academic good. FYI, AMC was my former school and it is now a 5 star school (girl’s school) where all the full As are from! YC (co-ed school) is a well-known school too, and the school’s objective emphasizes more on school activities.

I don’t hope to see my children leading a dull life with all those hard studies only. Just like what I had gone through when I was young. My godma reminded me that parents play a very important when shaping the characters of a child. She advised me to encourage my children in joining any of the contests or school activities held. Give more positive opinion and encouragement for them to participate some singing and colouring contest, poem recites, story telling and any other performances. This is one of the way to train those little hearts to be bold and strong. Besides, joining those societies and clubs may train them up on leadership and independence too.

I know that YC’s secondary school is not that good reputed. Anyway, I intend to change my children to either government secondary school or private school after Std 6. Nah….why worry so much, there are still 6 more years to go …… :p

I agree with what u have done :P Previously I went thru dreadful years too, for all i care id the good grade, not wanting to waste my time on those activities. Ended up i am the one who suffered and hate schooling, merely just because to get good grades. even though i did, whats the point, since i lost my wonderful play years :(

After reading, I feel nervous and scared. Cos I intend to send my daughter to AMC. She is 3 yrs old this yr. I’m not from that school so not sure much about it. Is that so horrible? I heard they give plenty of homeworks. I’m actually study in Convent Seremban and back to Ipoh I went to RPS.
